In Karshi-Kerki, the Border Guard Service conducted a special tactical exercise on the subject of “The State Emergency Service and the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies to eliminate sources of unsanitary ionizing radiation”, Representatives of the departments of customs, internal affairs, emergency situations and public health, the State Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, «Sanoatgeokontechnazorat», the Department of Ecology and Environment, as well as employees of Karshi secondary ferrous metal took part in it.

According to the plan, a truck loaded with secondary ferrous metal was initially delivered to our country, and during dosimetric monitoring, the radiation portal at the customs post signaled an alarm. When detected, the emergency transfer was brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.

After that, the groups involved were not allowed to expand the area of ​​radiation contamination where the source of unknown ionizing radiation was detected, and to undertake efforts to disinfect it.

Regional customs officer Aziza Хushvaktova says that the purpose of these training sessions was to improve the knowledge and skills of civil service personnel and civil emergency structures, as well as to improve the knowledge and skills of personnel of the subsystem of relevant departments when identifying unauthorized sources of ionizing radiation at the border post.
