According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further simplify enforcement procedures”, unconditional and timely execution of documents of judicial and other bodies, effective protection of the rights of individuals and legal entities and prevention of overcrowding ”, from April 1, 2019, the institute of mediation is introduced and other acts.

Mediation is a way to resolve a dispute through the support of a mediator, based on the voluntary consent of the parties to reach a mutually acceptable solution, and in the mediation process the case is suspended for no more than 15 days. In the case of an agreement between the parties, the enforcement proceedings shall be terminated.

The decree also clearly indicates the timing of the process. For example, if the issue of commencement of proceedings from June 1, 2019 is considered within one working day and there are obstacles to executive production, execution may be postponed only twice at the request of the debtor or at the initiative of the state executive body, a written decision must be made within 15 business days after the date of the decision.
