During the years 2019-2020, Kumdarya and Shakhrisabz State forestries will be planted in the Dekhkanabad, Kitab and Kamashi districts: bitter almonds, pistachio trees, seedlings on 7,000 hectares.

In particular, the farm will plant pistachio trees on 5,000 hectares, bitter almonds on 1,000 hectares, and nut trees on 500 hectares. This was approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of March 12, 2019 “On measures for the further development of the forest sector in the Kashkadarya region”.

Also, in accordance with this decree, Kamashi State Forestry Organization established a research and experimental pistachio farm, which does not have the status of a legal entity, and Kumdarya State Forestry in the Chirakchi district.

Currently, the State Forestry Administration of the Kumdarya region allocates 28,552 hectares of land to natural forests and inefficiently used lands.

Recall that during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the region on December 13-14, 2018, he gave a number of instructions on the effective use of the opportunities of the forestry in increasing the production of medicinal and export-oriented products.
